// the brief

What the site had to do

The brief

Eli's Barbershop is a barbershop in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina – one barber, one chair, one client at a time. The owner, Eli, is from Varna, trained at a hairdressing academy in Denmark and, after three years in the city and two salons, opened a place of her own. Her clients ask three things: what it costs, how long it takes and when there is a free slot. The site answers all three in Serbian and takes the booking directly, not through an Instagram message.

What we built

The design is ours: dark, in black, burgundy and silver, set in Cinzel and Josefin Sans.

Once it was approved, we connected the site to our own admin panel. Booking is a single page in five steps: services (several at once, say Fade + Beard trim), date, time, details, review. The calendar opens only the days with a free slot for the chosen duration and takes bookings up to 60 days ahead; Sundays, past days and full days are closed. The slot counts as taken the moment the request is made; the barber receives it by email and in the panel, the client gets a confirmation with a cancellation link and a calendar file. Payment is at the shop. Services, prices, durations, opening hours, photos and copy are all edited in the panel, and the opening hours set there also apply to the booking calendar and the data for Google.

// the reasoning

What we chose and why

  1. Booking lives on the site, several services at once

    Services → date → time → details → review. The client picks, say, Fade + Beard trim, and the total price and duration are worked out from the first step. The “Book” button next to every service in the price list preselects it.

  2. The calendar opens only days with a free slot

    Sundays, past days, full days and today once the notice period has passed are closed. Bookings are taken up to 60 days ahead, and the slot counts as taken the moment the request is made.

  3. Confirmation is an email, not a phone call

    The barber receives the request by email and in the site’s panel; the client gets an email with a cancellation link. The screen after booking offers a Google Calendar button and a file that adds the appointment to any other calendar.

  4. Everything is edited in the panel

    Services, prices and durations, opening hours, gallery photos by category, page copy and the address in the footer. The opening hours set in the panel also apply to the booking calendar and the data for Google.
