“How much does a website cost?” is the first question we hear, and the usual answer in the trade is “it depends”. That’s true, and it doesn’t help. So here are our own prices and timelines, and what makes a site cost more or less.
What drives the price
The page count rarely sets the price. What sets it is how many decisions someone has to make on your behalf and how much work sits behind the part you see.
- Template or custom design. A template is the quickest route to a working site. Custom design costs more, and it’s worth it if you don’t want your site to look like your competitor’s.
- Who writes the copy. In our view this is the most underestimated cost. If the text is yours, you save. With Start Website we organise and edit the text you give us; from Business Website upwards we write it after a short conversation with you.
- Features beyond information. Booking, gallery and catalogue modules are included in the price of the package they come with. A calculator, a client login or a link to your stock system is priced by scope, because each one is a small project of its own.
- Languages. A second language isn’t a copy of the first. There is twice as much text, and each language version needs its own address, translated titles and descriptions for Google, and a note telling search engines which version to show to whom.
- Moving old content. If you have an old site with hundreds of pages, moving them across and keeping their addresses is a separate job.
Our prices and timelines
These are the prices from our packages page, all excluding VAT. Before we start, you get a written quote with the exact scope, timeline and price.
- Start Website: from €450, 3–5 working days. A one-page site with your services, a few words about you and your contact details. A good fit when you offer one clear service and want people to call or write.
- Business Website: €900–2,000, 8–12 working days. Up to 15 pages: services, about, projects, contact, and a blog if you need one. Our most popular package.
- Catalog Website: €1,800–4,000, 13–20 working days. A catalogue with categories, search, filters and a separate page for every product, property or course.
- Custom Platform: from €4,500, timeline depends on scope. Systems for orders and clients, stock levels, schedules, team reports. Here the price follows the process: how many roles, rules and links to other software there are.
Every package comes with an admin panel where you change text, photos and prices yourself. New sections aren’t added from the panel; for that, you write to us.
The timeline starts on the day we receive the advance payment and all the materials: logo, photos, information about your services, contact details and the access we need. If the photos arrive late, the site is late by the same amount.
A mobile app is a separate product. A well-built website already works on a phone. An app makes sense when you need something a browser can’t do: working offline, notifications, camera access or an icon on the customer’s phone. It is quoted separately from the website.
If you use accounting, warehouse or CRM software, connecting to it is almost always a separate line in the quote. We’ve built such connections, and the price depends mostly on one thing: whether the software already has a way to exchange data or the connection has to be written from scratch. The difference is large, so we pin it down before the quote.
If you get a quote far below these figures, ask what is not in it. Often it’s the copy, the Google setup, testing on a phone or fixes after launch.
What you pay for after launch
A website keeps costing something after it’s finished. Some of it is compulsory, some isn’t.
- Domain and hosting. The domain is the site’s address; hosting is the server it lives on. Both are paid yearly to the provider. With us they’re registered in your name, so if you ever switch to another company for support, the site stays with you.
- Support. With us it’s optional. If you want it, the plans are Care at €39/mo, Care Plus at €79/mo and Partner at €149/mo, and you can stop them at any time. Technical bugs are fixed free of charge for 30 days after launch, plan or no plan.
- Content. New photos, new services, current prices. This is the easiest thing to forget. The panel lets you do it yourself, but someone has to remember. We’d say a site with prices from two years ago is worse than a site with no prices at all.
What to ask before you sign
Two quotes with the same figure can mean very different things. Ask directly:
- Who writes the copy, and is it included in the price?
- Is Google setup included, and how will I know how many enquiries come from the site?
- Can I change prices and text myself, or is every change billed?
- What’s the timeline, when does it start, and what happens if it slips?
- Whose name are the domain and hosting in, and who owns the code once I’ve paid?
- Is there a compulsory monthly fee, and what happens to the site if I stop paying it?
The last two matter most. A site registered to the developer, or one that goes offline when the subscription ends, isn’t yours.
Before you ask for a quote
We think people are let down by an unclear scope more often than by a high price. So before asking for a quote, write down on one sheet what the site needs to do and what materials you already have. With that sheet, every quote, ours or anyone else’s, gets more accurate.
